There are big changes coming to The Local! With great excitement, I want to share the plans for The Local’s future.  First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to everyone that supported my dream of owning a restaurant.  

As always, life evolves and changes. The Local is evolving into a new and exciting venture.  April 19th, 2025 will be the last day The Local will offer traditional in-house dining and carry-out services.   

The next chapter of The Local looks a little bit different, and I am excited to share the details. The Local’s home base will continue to be in Covington, IN with a permanent structure at Vermilion River Beer Company at 103 N. Vermilion in Danville, IL.  The Local will continue to source locally harvested ingredients for the fresh and delicious cuisine you’ve come to expect from us. The Local is available for all your catering needs.  I will continue to offer take and bakes and will have shop front hours for pick up.  I will continue to honor gift certificates at the VRBC location, take and bakes, catering, and other services.  Below I have listed new services I will be offering in addition to the food truck.   

• The Local’s dining room will be remodeled and be available to rent for private parties  

• Pop-up dates at the Covington location 

• Event rentals for your future parties, including but not limited to linens, plates, flatware and serving dishes.

• I will be planning and hosting events to be held at the Covington location 

• The Local’s kitchen will be available to rent as a commissary kitchen 

 

Please accept my sincerest gratitude for your continued support of my ever-evolving vison for The Local.  I could not have accomplished all I have without all of you!  I will continue to serve my customers and community with great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
